I approach child photography with a simple mantra-let kids be kids. For me, that means letting them play and capturing those moments of aliveness and connection. I don't use adult lighting, poses or backgrounds or try to entice them with toys or props that they have no connection to. Instead I work with both the kids and the parents to find that setting or situation that will always remind them of how happy their childhood was. I photograph children in my portrait studio or on location in San Francisco.
